barren land blog
"We have lost that idea ... that life is a pilgrimage and that while here on earth we are nothing more than travelers. The fathers wrote about life that way, talked and preached about it like that, and sang of it in their hymns in that way. They were but 'pilgrims in this barren land'... Now this idea has almost vanished out of our vocabulary and sounds strange to us..." -D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Reminder: Switch to Decablog
Just a reminder to any still getting an RSS feed from this site or stumbling upon it. I am not longer actively posting here, and have switched over to The Decablog. The stats feed says that a fair amount of people are still showing up here, so consider this an invitation to check out the new site.

New Blog: The Decablog
I have set up a new blog on a different host site. So far it seems to be much more reliable and easier to work with than Blogger. Over the next few months I'll probably move the longer posts from this site over to The Decablog, but I'll keep Barren Land live so that old links don't get broken. If you're subscribed to this feed you'll need to click through and subscribe to the new one. See you there!

All Quiet...?
After a veritable whirlwind of everyday posting to start this blog off in the new year, things have grown much quieter in the barren land. This post is just a quick update to say that this is not a case of waning interest on my part, rather a few providential circumstances have arisen which have been stealing my time as of late. In actuality, I am very committed to continuing to develop a blog as a good place for posting and discussion on a verity of topics from a Protestant, Evangelical, Reformed, and Baptist perspective. In fact, I am currently working on some major changes which I am very excited to share in the coming days and weeks. In the mean time, things will be slow here. But stay tuned...

RSS Test and the Last Couple Posts
The RSS feed of this blog and the e-mail notifications of new posts seems to be on the fritz again. This post is a test to see if it is working. Also, if you haven't received notification of new posts through the various remote services, there are a couple new things up. This issue (combined with some other annoyances) may eventual compel me to switch hosts for barren land. So far I am not impressed with my current online home.
